Santa started the new tradition this year… of only bringing 1 big thing for each kid.  Lily got a doll house big enough for Barbie and Eli got a new ride.

I saved and saved to surprise Jeff with something that he’s been wanting for a long time. .. a new guitar.  My sweet mom and dad paid me to do odd jobs like clean their house and wrap gifts, I sold clothes to the consignment store, and requested cash instead of gifts from my parents… (which is why I’m holding up socks above… I literally only got socks and undies. haha.)  all so I could get Jeff a nice gift that he deserved… and KNOW that he didn’t have to pay for it himself.

Such is  life of a woman married to a man whose language of love is gifts.  Compliments are way less expensive.

SNOW… both kids favorite part was definitely EATING it.  I ‘ate it’ a couple of times too… although in a totally different, less intentional way all together.

Eli found a kindred spirit in his cousin, Josiah.  Although he was already saying it before, we can unofficially claim that his first word is ‘Ya-ya’… which is what Lily called Siah too.  I hope Eli’s fascination with him means that he is going to share Siah’s gentle, thoughtful, caring personality…. and maybe he’ll be wicked good at math, too.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  If you didn’t get one…  here it is.

The whole thing was kind of an afterthought.  Next year I’ll try to do better.

I want some lefse. A quick wikipedia search confirmed it's awesomeness. Love the striped jammies and the one-gift tradition. Happy new year!

Looks like y'all had lots of fun in Minnesota. That little ice-skating-helper-thing Lily has looks pretty neat. Do they have those in adult sizes? Also, that was very sweet of you to sacrifice for Jeff's guitar. You are a good wife.

The snow looks fun! I remember making snow ice cream as a child. I never was any good at ice skating, the walker would have really helped. I love the sweet picture of Josiah and Eli.
