The Pigeon birthday party…

was a hit… although the birthday boys didn’t even make it through the whole thing.  Both zonked out in their cribs at Nana’s even before present opening time.

Here are some highlights:

Of course, the green bus was there.  My kids didn’t even play in it after this photo was taken.  Old hat, I guess.  Oh well,  Ethan made it all worthwhile.

Maow, the Queen of Scrapbooking, made the cutest accordion file keepsake books for both boys.

I  think my pigeon balloons were my favorite part.

Lily and I made recycled centerpieces, coloring page placemats and party BEAKS for everyone to wear.

I wonder how long these two cuties will let us get away with the ol’ joint birthday trick.

Of course, we had The Pigeon’s favorite food…  hot dogs.

…  and some beak kisses.

Big Pigeon, as he was named,  found a loving home with Lukie B. (much to the obvious delight of his parents).

Of course, Beankins had to show off his trademarked move.

I may or may not have been the only adult wearing a beak.

A pigeon egg hunt and an impromptu game of ‘duck, duck pigeon’ kept the older kids entertained.

Eli was, and continues to be, terrified of our bounce house.  So much for hours of backyard fun this summer.

Check Suzanne’s blog for more photos  of the other bday boy  and more that ‘my photographer’ might have missed.

I used photoshop to make this invitation:

and create  this little keepsake book  to match for the boys…. and use as a guestbook at the party.  Of course, it arrived one day  AFTER the party.  Neat.

It was such a great party. You truly have a gift for planning parties. I hope the joint parties can continue for a long time b/c Ethan will be sad when he sees the kind of parties Eli is having. Or I guess you'll just have to plan two parties. Thanks for including Ethan. And the pigeon is living on Lukie's dresser. :)

Amazing! You should really start your own kid party throwing company or something, your parties are awesome! How did you do the book? Everything is so cute!

It was all so much fun! It is hard to imagine that it has already been a year since these beautiful boys came into our lives. Only a couple of months and we get to see what you've planned for the next party. Love, Nana

I love the balloons and the beaks! How fun. I think joint parties are great. I know Suzanne probably loved it! It was great to see the pictures of the kids.

How did you make the stickers? I have some labels that might work. Just curious!

I just created pigeons with talk bubbles in photoshop and printed them on cardstock and glued them to the bags. Labels would work too though.

Torrie, for whatever reason blogger won't let me see you email address anywhere to contact you. If you happen to read this comment, though, I'd be happy to help.

I've been working on a pigeon party for my daughter's second birthday and after a friend got the invite she sent me a link to your party. I love the idea of the balloons! (balloons happen to be a favorite of my daughter) What did you use to stick the beaks on them?

I love this! I am planning a party for my daughter's 1 year and I am definitely stealing ideas from you!! I would also like to know what you used to make the balloons and how you created the keepsake book?

I LOVE YOUR PARTY!
My son thinks he IS the pigeon and is so wrapped up in Mo Willems right now. He is turning 5 in June and we want to have a pigeon party. Can you tell me which font you used for your wording?

Can you tell me where you got the yellow cones for the balloon pigeons? My google-fu isn't working!

Super cute! I love the balloons, trying to follow the comment thread to see how you made the beaks, but not seeing. Can you share how you made those and attached them to the balloons?

Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!

Same question as above? I love the book!
