I rarely get to post on vacation... but sitting here in a quiet house with my child happily occupied, I thought I'd give it a shot.

I thought... I'd start doing these kind of posts seen in Simple Woman’s Daybook every once in a while to preserve minute details of our lives at a given moment in time.

So here is today:

Outside my window… the fog is lifting on the Minnesota/Iowa border

I am thinking… how I can get my child to be a better sleeper.

I am thankful for… time with Jeff's family and friends and that our camera got delivered 30 minutes before we left... just shows yet again how much Jesus loves me.

From the kitchen… breakfast of coke (surprise, surprise) and leftover caramel rolls from yesterday.

I am wearing… pajamas. stretch pants and a 'don't mess with texas' t-shirt.

I am creating… nothing.

I am going… to get to take a shower today.

I am reading… The Mysterious Benedict Society. (a recommendation from my cousin, Paige)

I am praying… that Lily will survive the 17 hour car-trip home. She was a champ on the way up.

I am hearing… the happy sounds of Grace and Lily painting at the mini-table. Thumping from the basement... Is Jeff playing basketball down there?

Around the house… Beds are unmade from last night. Jeff in the twin bed. Lily in the crib. Grace with me in the big bed.

A few plans for the rest of the week… The county fair, pedicures for the girls, a Twins game, Mall of America.

So glad you posted on update while in Minnesota. I like the format of the post--I'll probably have to copy you b/c I'm fresh out of ideas for blog posts. I'm glad Lily is having so much fun with her cousins and you're getting some time off :) Please be VERY safe coming back. You 3 are very important to me.
