was overall a success. She was great on the 17 hour drive up… but things got a little hairy toward the end of the trip home. Mom and Dad both were in rare form after driving until 2 a.m. only to have Lily wiggle in the hotel bed between them for TWO HOURS before finally falling asleep.
I wrapped Lily little presents to open periodically throughout the trip and that worked WONDERS!
And praise Jesus for this little invention…
We had lots of fun in Minnesota and yet again there wasn’t nearly enough time to do everything we had wanted.
Here’s a little recap…
WIFFLE BALL TOURNAMENT
Jeff was super excited to get to be home for this annual event… even though he now is over the 30 limit and had to play as an ‘OLD GUY.’
Is it possible for Lily to look more like her dad on his home turf?
These big bulls nearly charged Isaac as he came out of the outhouse bathroom. He narrowly escaped… but the experience left a big mark on B-Bug… who retold the story multiple times a day. “Isaac was scared to the cows!”
THE BIG FALL
The same day that Papa sliced his tendon at work… B-Bug decided she needed a big injury too. After catching an accidental double bounce from Gracie on the trampoline… Lily lost the ability to walk. The poor thing had to miss her pedicure appointment to go to the emergency room, where they took x-rays of her little legs… but found no answers. We went to Target where her Maow had to buy her a little stroller to act as a wheelchair… since we forgot to pack ours.
THE COUNTY FAIR…
had to be Lily’s all time favorite event EVER. She LOVED seeing all of the farm animals that were being shown… as we wheeled her around in her faux wheelchair.
The cows were her favorite… especially this little one named ‘Milkshake’ that this boy let her pet.
Maow even sweet-talked the guy into letting Lily ‘hold the chickie in her paddy’ like she had been wanting to do since Maow first told her about the fair weeks ago.
THE TWINS GAME
was Lily’s first MLB game to attend. Unfortunately, Papa had to get surgery so he and Maow couldn’t come and the Twins didn’t win… but Jonah caught a foul ball after it grazed Siah’s back. Lily got spoiled by her Aunt Je-Je with ice cream and lip gloss. Our friends Brock, Jessie Landon and Grady were able to come. Through it all, Lily became infatuated with TC the Bear mascot and talked about him the whole 17 hours home to Texas. We have agreed to get her a stuffed TC for Christmas.
MALL OF AMERICA
Lily LOVES rides and got to do several with her dad and Landon.
JASON’S WEDDING…
Lily was perfect during the ceremony… then let loose at the reception. I don’t know if I’ve ever been so frazzled. I was elated when Maow and Papa arrived for the dance! It was lots of fun to get to spend quality time with Jeff’s friends.
So much for a family photo.
The poor little thing had to limp around the dance floor.
I’ll post the cute videos soon.

Wow! It looks like the trip was loaded with fun things to do. Although I am sad that our little b-bug and Mark got hurt. It is all about making memories. Lily made a ton of them. We missed you all here in Texas but we know you guys have been missed in Minnesota. I wish we could all live closer. Love, Nana
It looks like y'all got to do lots of fun stuff! I know Lily had a blast. I'm glad she is healing from her trampoline injury. She sure does look like her Dad in a lot of those pictures :)
