Scorpions, centipedes and bats... oh my!

The latest creature to add to the list of those that call our home their home is this guy:

... the Giant Desert Centipede...5-6 inches long and, even in 3 pieces, a very fast mover.  He was still trying to figure out how to reattach himself when Jeff dumped him FAR from our porch where we found him.  I'm calling him a him because I'm praying there are no babies waiting to hatch.  A call will be placed to my good friends at America's Best Pest Control  just in case. The last scorpion found UNDER OUR KITCHEN TABLE DURING LILY'S BREAKFAST was at least dead... which means our pest control bill is well worth the money.

I can't believe it's already October.  I'm still working hard on my craft show stuff... as I now have only 3 weeks to work left with our trip to Minnesota being the week before.  In the midst of it all, an order came in... just after I'd painted the rest of my canvases.  Unfortunately all craft stores are 45 minutes to an hour away, so I packed Lily up bright and early to go get the supplies.  10 minutes into the drive, I smelled something gross and turned to see Lily covered in throw up.  After racing home, bathing Lily, hosing off the carseat (which happened to be my mom's...sorry), washing the cover, disinfecting and cleaning off my backseat... Lily was happy as a clam.  I don't know what happened... maybe motion sickness from being right by the window for a change... maybe that this was her at breakfast:

(She begs for any silverware that I am using... and this time confiscated my cereal as well.)

Anyway... Jeff had to pick up the supplies for me in San Antonio.

I started with something ugly and disgusting... so I'll end with something cute, cute, cute!

Here is Lily today playing outside after going to Nana's bookfair at school.  She looks precious in her first pair of real jeans.  We didn't even have to leave them unbuttoned.  My little chubster is all grown up.  By the way, we had to strip them off right after this... because that news of a cold front was a vicious lie! Lily doesn't do jeans when it's 97 degrees at 10 am.
