…I’ve reached that stage.
For me, this time, it has meant hours upon wasted hours of looking on the internet. My etsy.com shopping cart is full of onesies, blankets, knit hats, etc… that I may never actually buy. At least now, we’ve sold Jeff’s desk and futon… so his room is ready for action. So far, all I have up is the cute valance that Carla made from the bed skirt… the rest of the room has become Lily’s parking lot for doll umbrella strollers, doll buggy strollers, and shopping carts. Where did that stuff go before we had an empty room?
My to-do list is a mile long with furniture to paint, carpet to clean, things to make, things to buy… etc.
I enjoy every minute of the thinking and planning… now if I could just get to the doing. I tried to start sanding the rocker to stain it… and that was pretty much the LEAST fun project I’ve ever started! I wish someone would have warned me. HGTV is full of LIARS. I am convinced there are NO easy projects involving furniture.
Speaking of little Eli…
This baby boy is already GINORMOUS. I already feel like he might bust right through my skin at times… and I didn’t feel like that with Lily until she was fully cooked. My belly button is definitely not going to survive this one in its natural shape. It’s making a valiant effort, however… to stay an innie as long as possible.
Baby Eli is quite a little mover. What started as soft little flurries now remind me of a cat trapped in a pillowcase. I can just sit there watching tv and be completely distracted by the moving belly that goes in and out of my peripheral vision.
Also, he seems to be a real music kid. Like Lily did, he flips around when good music is on… but mostly rock and roll. Unlike Lily’s days in the womb, the easy listening stuff like Van and James keep him sedate… but while watching Across the Universe, every rockin’ Beatles song that came on woke him up and excited him. This morning he proved to be quite a fan of The Strokes. Granted, he does also seem to always move when we’re listening to the Baby Genius funk version of ‘No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed’ in the car… but don’t question his taste just yet… I always picture him flipping around trying to find his ears to cover them and yell, ‘MOM… this music STINKS! Turn this JUNK off!’
Its fun to imagine his little personality. I have a hunch that he might be a little more Kimmel than Olson. Its completely unfounded… but I think since Lily is almost 99.9% Olson… the odds are pointing that way. Saying this probably worries the pants of of Jeffie, he probably pictures a mini Shauna looking at him and saying, “No thanks Dad, I don’t want to play baseball… I’d rather put on magic show pretending I’m a horse.”

I love your bump pictures. He is getting big!! I can't wait to see what Eli is like. If he is a mini-you and Lily is a mini-Jeff that will be lots of fun. Hopefully he will get his Dad's sports genes and not the Kimmel ones (which actually don't exist). :)
You look great! I always enjoy reading your blogs, even though I don't comment all the time. I am excited to meet this little critter. Do y'all have a middle name for Eli?
I wish nesting would kick in for me. I feel like I am at a standstill right now. About a month ago I got a lot done and now I guess all I do is eat and watch American Idol. Not very productive! You look great in your pictures. Lily looks so sweet. She is going to be such a good big sister!
HA! Love that last line!! Could you look any cuter?? Your little tummy and the pictures of Lily is precious.
Cute pictures of you and Lily. I know you will get everything done. I am not sure that it has really sunk in for me how soon we will all be loving and holding 2 new baby boys but I am sure looking forward to their arrivals. Love, Nana
You look great Shauna and of course Lily looks adorable. If little Eli is more Kimmel than Olson he might be kind of rascally...at least if he's anything like your Dad and his brothers or Ron... Yay for getting stuff done on your to-do list. Maybe I'd get more done if I was pregnant...
