Christmas Wrap-up….

Here is the noodle head before her Christmas party at school. … where I stood and watched her eat some cheese cubes and a cookie.  No song. No craft. Nothing.  Some party. Kind of a waste of a tutu, if you asked me.  We had our own party at Taco Bell afterwards… Lily’s choice.

Lily’s big present this year was a playscape from Jeff and me, Nana and Augie, and Maow and Papa.  The big reveal was a little anti-climatic when she awoke from her nap undetected until I heard her say from the window, “They’re building a park in my backyard.”

Christmas Eve at Nana and Augie’s house:

Favorites from the day were her Taylor Swift barbie that sings ‘our song’, pink grocery store checkout, and baby alive--- which when I told her to give it a name so she would stop calling it ‘peeing and pooping baby’—she named it ‘Shel-cees-deo’… as in ‘Gloria In Excelsis Deo’.  I’m now working on her to RE-name it ‘Gloria’ instead. No luck so far.

Santa came to our house… even with a little something for the baby brother.  Look closely for a hint on the name we ‘think’ we have chosen for him.

I think the favorite gift of the day was the little ‘fur real’ piglet.  Who knew, when Lily said she wanted a baby piggie that she could feed a bottle and push in her stroller, that they actually made such a thing…. and that I would find it 5 days before Christmas.

Minnesota Christmas:

I definitely married into a family of givers (which I already knew)… but I’ve never seen so many presents under a tree in all my life!

Lily got to play in the snow, like she wanted.  She wanted to make snow angels like Goofy and his son, Max.  She genetically inherited some Scandinavian blood… because after she stopped crying about the snow getting in her face, she could have outlasted everyone…. had she not had the inconvenience of needing to go potty. (Not an easy task in a snowsuit)

Jeff had the brilliant idea to let Lily try to go outside below zero… NAKED!

She didn’t make it past the door frame.

We had a fun mini-vacation at the Waterpark of America hotel and the Mall of America in Minneapolis.

After a ‘near death experience’ on a water slide with Grace.  Lily stuck to the lazy river and her favorite part was this “big ol’ bear”.

We got to see Siah play a basketball tournament… and win!

The most memorable part of the trip would have to be this:

HOLY COW!

Praise Jesus for Texas and flip flops in the winter! I just don’t have a speck of  Scandinavian blood.

Seeing the news coverage of how it might drop below freezing overnight... makes even ME want to laugh now. We’re a bunch of weenies!

Looks like you guys had a great Christmas. The things Lily says just crack me up. She is so funny! It looks like he is going to be named Eli! I love it. So sweet, and I can't wait to see what he looks like. You look great in all of your pictures too!

We enjoyed our Christmas time with y'all. Looks like Minnesota was lots of fun. I can't believe how cold it was!! That's fun that Lily gets to see what a real winter is like.

We did have a great Christmas but I am admiring the snow in Minnesota from afar. I am always singing " I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas..." but I really haven't experienced snow like you experienced. (-20 degrees) Unbelievable! And I really am a whimp when it comes to cold weather. I think the Water Park looks like my kind of fun. Lily and Eli are going to be well adjusted to any kind of weather. Love, Nana
