Just finishing up my breakfast of champions... chips, queso, and a cherry coke (it was the most appealing option that could be eaten one handed while trying to walk Lily to sleep) and realized I should update if she stays asleep.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at my aunt Dixie Lee's house. I LOVE Thanksgiving! It probably has a lot to do with my aunt Dixie Lee. She's quite a lady. Sadly, they just don't make them like her anymore. She's the only one I know that could whip up a dinner for 50 from scratch, sew some bedroom curtains and an outfit, go to visit some friends, and still have energy to go clogging at a nursing home.

I'm SUPER excited for Christmas this year... even more than normal. Maybe its from having a daughter or having our own house to decorate. I popped in the Christmas c.d. that Suzanne made for me on about November 9th... I'm making the season last as long as possible. Jeff is insistent upon having a real tree... however, he was quite disappointed to find that we'd have to drive over an hour to cut one down ourselves.

I got to give him a glimpse of my tree choosing memories by traveling up to our local grocery store and paying $30 at the register and carrying off one of the 8 trees that they had leaned up against the side of the store. Jeff seemed a little depressed loading it into the family mini-van. Maybe when Lily's older we can put the extra effort in and drive to Bastrop...although she might not want a tree in her face when she's old enough to know better.

Here are my latest digital scrapbook pages that I did on Tuesday when Lily actually napped!

Mmmkay... I'm at my wit's end with buying clothes that don't fit Lily. Just as I cut the tags off... I pull in on to find that it won't go over her belly.

She's a 4 month old that needs a 18 month waist and a 9 month length... which doesn't exist. I recently found a cute jean skirt for her to wear with all of her new colorful tights. I bought the 9 month size because anything bigger was practically a floor length skirt on her. My mom and I first tried snipping the treads sewn into the elastic to try to loosen it... unsuccessful. Then we tried going in and snipping through the elastic... unsuccessful. Finally, I just had to cut right down the sides to try to make enough room for Lily's growing belly... and she still has a muffin top. The poor thing is doomed to wear onesies and tights with no pants this winter... because I can't stand to think she might be uncomfortable. Maybe I could find some sort of belt to go with her tights and she could just go with the festive holiday elf look.

I think she's precious and would never wish for her to be any different. Thus, my solution is that there needs to be baby plus size clothing stores... selling pants and skirts with GENEROUS elastic or even expander tabs. Perhaps I could get the people at Lane Bryant on board.

We just had such a nice visit from Jeff's parents. Lily is just now recovering from the initial boredom from just having 2 people around all the time. She got pretty used to being carried, rocked, strolled and having constant attention. Kids that get to have both sets of grandparents around are really the luckiest kids in the world.

I am just recovering from not being able to scrapbook all day. I've tried doing it while she naps... but once exposed to all of the high dollar tools that Carla had-- its just not the same.

Yesterday my mom and I went the Kingsland Craft Show that only comes around twice a year to our sleepy little retirement village of a town. It was heartbreaking! We tried to walk quickly and not make eye contact with certain exhibitors that paid 50 dollars to rent a booth. It takes real talent to make a fully reversible, one size fits all sun hat... but if I bought something from everyone I felt sorry for-- I would have bought something from all 8 booths. Needless to say... we'll save ourselves the heartache next time and not go.
